Made from Vancouver Island western red cedar, this bird house offers small song birds a cozy, dry, and quite safe home. The peg at the bottom is NOT a perch, for the small birds who would call this home need no such thing! Indeed, perches often serve only as a convenient place for predators to stand when trying to steal eggs or eat sitting birds or chicks. This bird house opens at the bottom so that nest material can be removed over the winter (when no birds are home) to prevent the build up of unhealthy numbers of nest parasites.

The kit version of the house comes with all materials required to assemble your own bird house, except a hammer (or rock!). Perfect for pretty much any level of do-it-yourselfer - novice to expert, young of years to young of heart!
