Beautiful wooden pepper mills and salt shakers. Unless otherwise specified, these plates are made from Gabriola Island spalted maple. The maple is harvested here on Gabriola Island (just off Vancouver Island in BC, Canada) in the most sustainable of possible ways. Most of our pepper mills and salt shakers are finished with beeswax and mineral oil and are easy to care for - a touch of either wax or oil on a cloth then rubbed on the wood restores its lustre.
Our pepper mill mechanisms are durable stainless steel with aluminum shafts whose parts are made in the United States. Yes, that's right, you can be assured there is no lead or other soft or toxic metals grinding your peppercorns.
